We will conduct three field expeditions in total, the first during the pre-monsoon window of 2017 to drill and install borehole instrumentation (9 weeks in length), the second during the post-monsoon period of 2017 to maintain and download loggers (6 weeks), and the third in the following premonsoon window of 2018 to re-drill the holes, repeat the inclinometry and decommission the experiment (9 weeks).

Accessing the site requires a flight to Lukla, followed by XX days trekking to Everest Base Camp to allow the team to acclimatise. For equipment to make this journey requires the use of helicopters, although they are severely limited in their carrying capacity to the highest sites. The expedition will stay at tea-house lodges for the trek, but will camp on-glacier while drilling and installing our instrumentation.
